Justin Bieber is almost as famous (infamous?) for is pranks as he is for his pop music which sends his fans crazy. But it seems that two Texans are a lot less than impressed by the pop star’s fun side. They have threatened legal action, claming that Bieber encouraged people to call their phones, which led to harassment at all hours of the night.
Just in case you’re not one of Bieber’s almost 19 million followers on Twitter, the singer randomly Tweeted a phone number earlier this month with the caption, “Call me right now.” But the number was minus the last digit. The big tease!
Scores of teen girls tried to guess what the number might be and called their way through the options. The problem was: some of this randomness led to them calling actual people’s phone numbers.
The tweet was later deleted, but the damage was done.
Two people in Texa – an older woman named Dilcie and a man named Kent – claim that their phones have been ringing off the hook non-stop, and now, they’ve called in their lawyers up to force Bieber to pay for his actions.
The lawyer said that after receiving over 1,000 phone calls at all hours of the day, the clients want compensation for Justin Bieber’s “reckless” behavior.
Suggestions from the legal team include: concert tickets for Ms. Fleming’s grandchildren, an apology from Justin Bieber an endorsement for Kent’s upcoming online project and money for any out of pocket expenses.
According to the lawyer, they are serious about pursuing the claim. Your thoughts…?
