Police found swords, rope and a body bag on the two men, aged 33 and 30, when they were arrested near Joss Stone’s country home. They are also understood to have had maps and aerial photos of her rural property in east Devon when they were arrested on Monday morning (June 13). They are now being held on conspiracy to rob and murder Joss Stone (24) who has a £9m fortune.
Joss Stone is a friend of Prince William and Princess Catherine, and attended their wedding. She is not believed to have been home at the time of the attempted attack.
She is a chart-topping soul singer and made her movie debut in the fantasy adventure film “Eragon” (2006). Her television debut came portraying Henry VIII’s fourth wife Anne of Cleves in the third season of Showtime’s series “The Tudors.” Owing to her popularity with the show’s fans, she reprised the role in the show’s final season in 2010, appearing in two episodes.
Police enquiries into the robbery and murder plot against Joss Stone continue and the men remain in custody. Stone, who has sold more than 10 million albums, is due to go on tour in the next few weeks.
