Jodie Foster’s Father Facing Rest of His Life In Prison Over Investment Scam

Lucius Foster is facing up to 20 years in prison for allegedly conning over twenty investors out of their money.

Foster, who is estranged from his movie star daughter, is accused of dishonestly earning more than $130,000 in an apparent housing scam in Los Angeles.

Lucius appeared in a Los Angeles courtroom on Thursday, charged with 25 counts of grand theft and 10 counts of contracting without a license.

Deputy City Attorney Dan Cocek did not hold back from calling Foster “a liar and a cheat.”

Cocek said Foster had the convincing scam in operation for years.

He alleges that the 89-year-old building contractor found his clients on CraigsList. He then cheated them out of a $5,000 down payment after he claimed he would build them low-cost modular homes for $85,000. He planned to make the three-bedroom, 2,000-square-foot homes out of metal cargo containers from China.

Lucius Foster left the family when actress Jodie’s mother Evelyn was a few months pregnant with her.

Now he faces up to 20 years in jail for his part in the housing scam. As he is currently aged 89, in practical terms that means that, if he is convicted, he could live the rest of his life behind bars for his crime.

Lucius Foster is representing himself in court.
