Residents near the converted firehouse on Mercer Street in Downtown Jersey City where the two reality-TV stars will be housed, will be provided a weekly schedule by the production company stating which days filming will be taking place, an MTV representative has confirmed. Of course, it will vary each week.
“Prep time” begins tomorrow, with filming beginning Tuesday and going through to the end of next week.
A new notice will be provided on February 26 to update the filming schedules.
Snooki and JWoww will be in Jersey City for six weeks in total, according to reports from the Jersey City Mayor’s Office, but not always in their Mercer Street digs.
There are not many details yet about the show’s premise but it is thought to be another reality TV show following the two friends in their daily lives.
Farley called the show a modern-day “Laverne and Shirley” that will show JWoww and Snooki interacting their families, their boyfriends and each other.
It has been confirmed that there will be no street closures during the filming process, and no crew parking on Mercer Street, except for two parking spaces designated by police for the production company during filming dates, according to the notice and the MTV representative.
The area will be patrolled by off-duty Jersey City police officers, city officials said.
Crews were spotted last week moving furniture into the refurbished firehouse at 38 Mercer St.
