The fifth season of Jersey Shore kicks off Thursday, so last night the stars teased us with some tidbits about the upcoming episodes, an incoming cast member, possible spin-offs and the departure of a Seaside Heights regular when they appeared on The Tonight Show.
Snooki confirmed that Vinny Guadagnino, the cast’s most down-to-earth character, will leave at some point this season. The pressures of reality TV have just become too much for him, and even though the stars of Jersey Shore season 5 have been told this is their last season, Vinny just couldn’t take it to the end.
Snooki admitted that the homesickness and the constant attention of the cameras get too much for them all at time (like they don’t love it?).
Snooki said that this season, we’ll see a new personality called The Unit, a friend of The Situation’s. But Celebrity News and Style followers go to hear that here first. She admitted she didn’t like him.
But she demonstrated her Snookify Me app, which gives its subjects Snooki-esque makeovers, on host Jay Leno and fellow guest Whitney Cummings.
Jimmy Kimmel played host to Snooki’s Jersey Shore cast mates The Situation, Pauly D, Ronnie and Vinny opened up about his exit from the MTV smash.
“It got real for me for a little bit and I had to take care of myself,” Vinny said of the severe difficulties he experienced in balancing his life and the show’s demanding schedule. “But you’ll see: a good thing ends up coming out of it.”
The Situation said how shocked he was to lose the voice of reason in the house and a sentimental Pauly D espoused his appreciation of his old Jersey Shore pal.
“You don’t know what you’ve got till it’s gone.”
But soon, Jersey Shore will all be gone, so what’s next for its stars?
Pauly D said he is going to star in his own spin-off chronicling his career as a DJ, while The Situation implied he had plans too.
The fifth season of Jersey Shore premieres Thursday on MTV at 10/9c.
