Vinny has been absent from the Jersey Shore house for a while now and Mike took off last week after his birthday disaster, so our usual eight has become the Jersey Shore six, and it seems we’re all missing Vinny.
T-shirt shop owner Danny warned everyone that he’s looking for new roommates. Well, maybe just one, as Mike returned last night, thankfully missing Danny’s remark that he is “pretty much useless anyways.”
Mike didn’t want to talk about where he had been, except to say that he tries to isolate himself on his birthday each year to see who will make the extra effort to say happy birthday. Whoa, man – risky!
Next morning the Jersey Shore gang went off to work and got another warning from Danny. They aren’t pulling their weight, apparently. Congratulation on finally working that out.
But Snooki was so desperate to avoid new roommates that she was ready to sell her heart out, and overall it seemed like a good day at work for the group.
Back at the house Deena invited Vinny to Pauly’s upcoming birthday party, although he was pretty reluctant to come, causing poor Sammi to fear the worst:
“If he doesn’t come for the birthday party will Vinny ever come back home?
But worrying about Vinny was quickly superseded by Deena and Snooki apparently needing to learn how to “walk gangster” before heading off to Karma to start planning the surprise birthday party for Pauly and Mike. Perhaps they are wasting their time: Pauly told them swag is something you are born with, not something that can be learned.
JWoww, Mike and Ronnie didn’t have such a great time at work as their housemates. Danny put up a sign saying “help wanted” and even JWoww ripping it down didn’t change his mind. Ronnie thought he has the solution, though. It’s not to work harder (don’t be silly!) but to make whoever joins the house feel supremely uncomfortable so they won’t want to stay.
Comic relief among all this gloom and doom came in the form of buying giant Donnie Darko-style bunny outfits sourced from a party shop.
“When we need a freaking bunny suit to bring life to the house that’s when you know we have problems!” said a remarkably astute Snooki.
I don’t quite get why the bunny suits didn’t make it to the surprise party at Karma, but the birthday boys are instead treated to strippers inside a giant birthday cake while they watch, handcuffed to a wheelchair (seriously). Pauly and Mike brought home girls.
Snooki put on the costume back at home but the fun was cut short when Jionni arrived and immediately headed to the Smush Room with Snooki.
This all might sound like a whole lot of fun (no, it doesn’t really, does it?) But the Jersey Shore gang miss Vinny so much that the next day they planned to drive to Staten Island and kidnap their missing roommate. After barging into his house shouting, the gang greeted their not-so-long-lost friend, who is looking pretty good and sporting a new tattoo on his chest saying “Let Go, Let God”, which puzzles Ronnie.
So, is Vinny returning to Jersey or not? Yes! After a tearful goodbye with his mom he hops in the car with the others and heads back “home” to Seaside.
Jersey Shore airs Thursdays on MTV.
