Italy can breathe easy a little longer. The “Jersey Shore” team have been delayed in their filming, due to a contract dispute with Italian nightclubs and bars unwilling to allow MTV filming of the controversial reality TV show to take place on their properties.
Several members of the “Jersey Shore” cast have yet to sign their contracts, which means that until finalized, no-one goes to Italy.
Producers of the show are also struggling to find suitable party venues for the cast to go display their craziness too. It is known that the “Jersey Shore” cast should be based in Florence, the capital city of the Tuscany region. However, with contracts not signed and social venues not found, it doesn’t look like filming will hit the scheduled April 18 departure for the cast to Italy.
Snooki, The Situation, JWoww and Pauly D are all hanging out for more lucrative contracts.
Meanwhile, as we reported a few months ago, the people of Italy are not at all pleased at filming taking place there anyway. Even though the show only started to air there last week, residents had heard enough from reputation and have stated their disappointment of how the show stereotypically portrays Italian Americans.
“The good news, if there is any, is that producers have chosen one of the prettiest cities in Italy for the cast to live,” said a show representative.
But will the “Jersey Shore” cast ever see it? Are the show’s stars worth even higher fees?
