The President of a national Italian American group has branded Jersey Shore’s Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi as the country’s worst ever export, calling her “the lowest of the low” after she crashed into an Italian police car this weekend.
UNICO President Andre Dimino said: “She really is the lowest of the low and will do anything for attention, even hitting a police car. She is our worst ever export and is an embarrassment for Italian Americans and our whole country.”
He thinks it was a bad move for MTV to take filming to Italy. The incident in which Snooki drove her car into a police car is just further proof, as far as he is concerned.
In the past, UNICO have tried to get Jersey Shore scrapped. They even consulted lawyers over the network’s portrayal of young Italian Americans as party animals knocking back the booze and having casual sex.
However, despite two police officers having suffered whiplash in the minor fender bender in Florence this weekend, Snooki was not arrested. Authorities said that alcohol did not play a part in the crash which occurred while the police car was escorting the MTV star through the historic city of Florence. However, her driving license was revoked and she may face court.
Snooki’s Jersey Shore co-star Deena Cortese and a production assistant were also in her car when she drove into the back of the police vehicle, but neither were injured.
Both police officers involved in the crash on Sunday were taken to the hospital to be checked out, while Snooki and Deena went to a local police station to fill in an accident report. The next night, as her co-stars Jenni “J-WOWW” Farley, Deena Cortesse and Sammi “Sweetheart” Giancola went on a girls night out in Florence, Snooki was conspicuous by her absence.
Will the Florentine fender-bender calm Snooki down? Are UNICO just making too much of the whole thing? What do you think?
