Jennie Garth shocked everyone when she surfaced not long ago appearing drastically thinner than before. The former “90210″ star was in the news for her extreme weight loss instead of the divorce she went through with “Twilight” actor, Peter Facinelli.
Us Weekly interviews a source who claims to know how Jennie lost so much weight, but claims it wasn’t anything radical. In an earlier interview, Garth admitted herself that the stress of divorcing her husband of 11 years had some impact on her body — as most women can relate to who have been through the same thing.
Jennie went to her farm in Santa Ynez, Calif. when the divorce headlines were relentless. It was then an insider claims the 40-year-old star wanted to make a change.
“She did a lot of outdoor activities: running, hiking and riding her horse,” the source said.
Garth did that in addition to working out three times a week at the local gym, Cold Iron Barbell.
“We don’t use machines here. It’s all free weights,”the gym’s co-owner, Shannon Stewart, told Us of the 90-minute sessions. “We like to do circuits: She’d push over a tractor tire, then do push-ups, then jump rope, do deadlifts and run for a bit.”
It’s estimated that Jennie Garth has lost about 20 pounds of her weight and is said to be in as good of shape as she was in 2007 when she appeared on “Dancing with the Stars.” Garth insists she’s just exercising more, eating healthier, and drinking plenty of coconut water.
“I eat a lot of Greek yogurt: Greek yogurt in the morning, salads and proteins the rest of the day and maybe a cupcake if I’ve been a good girl,” Garth said. “I don’t believe in depriving yourself of things you want.”
A friend of Jennie’s said she used to be more conservative in her style — wanting to cover up her body. Now that she’s looking slim and trim, she’s more willing to show more skin.
