Jack Wagner has danced his last dance with professional dance partner Anna Trebunskaya. The pairing was eliminated from Dancing With The Stars after coming joint bottom of the leader board with four other couples. America failed to vote in enough numbers to save them.
The soap opera actor Jack Wagner (52) danced s Samba to “Lighting Up the Night” on Tuesday for the show’s “most-memorable year” themed week.
The actor, together with professional ballroom dancer Anna Trebunskaya, chose 2011 as his most memorable when he discovered he had a daughter. It was an emotional back story which tugged at the heart strings but obviously didn’t motivate enough people to vote for him.
“I had a great time, and it was kind of great to test myself,” said Wagner, who looked surprised to be out of the show.
Head judge Len Goodman had called Wagner’s performance on Monday night’s program “your best dance yet.”
But all the dancers did well this week, and as Len admitted, “no one deserves to go home tonight.”
There were only five points separating the first-place dancers from the lowest scorers.
Five dancers, including Wagner, were tied at the bottom with 24. The other two dancers who faced elimination were singer Gladys Knight and musician Gavin DeGraw, who came in second-to-last for the second straight week.
But host Tom Bergeron unveiled a new twist in the popular TV contest last week. In future, the bottom two couples will face a dance-off with the judges deciding who goes home based on their last-chance dance.
Ten stars remain in the competition. Katherine Jenkins again scored top marks from the judges. But sadly we won’t see Jack Wagner tripping the light fantastic anymore. Are you sad to see him go?
