Haley Reinhart has finally signed a record deal. The growling jazz blues singer finished third in the latest season of “American Idol,” behind Scotty McCreery and Lauren Alaina but the firm favorite with fans is not about to leave the spotlight any time soon.
Haley Reinhart has signed a deal with Interscope Records. That is the same label as fellow “American Idol” contestant Pia Toscano and 50 Cent recently pulled his album from.
“American Idol” contestant Haley Reinhart has officially been signed to 19 Entertainment/Interscope Records. Despite constant criticism and some stellar pouting during the show, Haley growled and sensuously danced her way into third place during the most recent season. Now Reinhart is currently working on her debut album.
This latest deal marks yet another achievement in a particularly good year for Idol contestants who didn’t win. Runner-up Lauren Alaina was quickly signed to Mercury Nashville Records following the completion of the show, and ninth-place finisher Pia Toscano also got an Interscope deal. Pia has already released a debut single, “This Time.”
Haley Reinhart’s record deal has come at a good time: Adele is dominating the music business right now. And in the wake of Amy Winehouse’s tragic death, people are checking out female singers with a good bit of raspy soul. Haley Reinhart slots comfortably into that niche.
