Gwen Stefani: ‘The Voice’ Season 7 Signs on New Judge, Stefani Replaces Christina Aguilera

Gwen Stefani will be a judge on “The Voice” season 7, according  to a new report just out by TMZ.

Stefani will be filling in for Christina Aguilera, who’s pregnant and reportedly having a difficult time. She initially wanted to remain on season 7 despite her condition, but she ultimately decided it was best to sit out one season.

A source with Hollywood Life confirmed that Stefani is Aguilera’s replacement on “The Voice.”

“The rumors are true, Gwen will be taking the job,” the insider said.

Gwen Stefani won’t be judging on season 8 of the show because Christina is already due back from her time off. Taping for season 7 begins in June.

Besides Christina Aguilera being temporarily replaced on “The Voice,” it’s possible Adam Levine might take a season off as well. It wasn’t mentioned in the HL report when Levine might bow out for one season, but it doesn’t necessarily mean Usher will stand in for him like he normally has in the past.

“Usher would not instantly be the one to replace him,” the source said. “They would get someone new if Adam decides to leave.”

A lot of spinning revolving chairs at NBC are happening right now for “The Voice” season 7.

Gwen Stefani on “The Voice” will add some variety to the show. One platinum blonde sits in for another. It should be quite a season with some new dynamics and chemistry between the judges!
