Glee Season 3 SPOILERS: What Happens Next?

Ryan Murphy disclosed a while ago that a major aim of Glee Season 3 was going to be to highlight previously neglected cast members. So let’s have a look at a few Glee spoilers to judge whether Murphy is about to live up to his promise when the new season of Glee premieres on September 22.

These really are SPOILERS. You might learn a lot of information you would rather not know about Glee season 3 so stop reading now if you want to be surprised when the show hits our TV screens later this month.

Two actors have been cast as Mike Chang’s parents. Tamlyn Tomita (of The Joy Luck Club) and Keong Sim (of The Last Airbender) will play parents to Glee regular Harry Shum Jr. That opens the way forward for his character to get some more major storylines, as Ryan Murphy promised.

We will meet Mike Chang’s parents on the third episode of Glee season 3, which will most likely focus on Mike Chang. Mercedes has a new boyfriend now, Marcus, a McKinley Titans’ linebacker, so hopefully Tina will get a good chunk of a storyline.

Viewers last saw New Directions head to New York for Nationals, where they failed to rank in the top ten. As they return to McKinley High, Will sets his sights on recruiting new talent for the choir.

Rachel and Kurt are set for a shock, though, because when looking for colleges, they find out that they are not as uniquely talented as they thought. Finn is still getting Slushee facials compliments and Quinn quits the Glee Club for some dangerous friends. Artie, Tina, Puck and last season’s newest recruit, Lauren are all still around.

Sue Sylvestre, conniving cheerleading coach of The Cheerios, ramps up her anti-Glee campaign to a whole new level, running for Congress on a “no arts” platform. She wants to stop not just the McKinley High Glee Club but all glee clubs nationwide. Yikes! Of course Will won’t let her succeed, but in the process his masterful display has Emma falling in love with him all over again.

Sam is out as Chord Overstreet didn’t like being relegated to a guest star. But Blaine and Mike, played by Darren Criss and Harry Shum Jr., become regulars on Glee season 3.

Don’t miss the season 3 premiere of Glee on September 20 on Fox.
