Rachel takes Finn to what she thinks is a theater group performing. Well it is a performance all right, but a bunch of strippers on stage! Finn is scared for life by images what he saw. Rachel grabs Sam off the stage and tries to convince him to come back to school. He had been at home, working and helping out his family during a tough financial time. They all go to his parents, which decide he can.
Schuster comes in and starts to say that sectionals over the weekend will be a bomb, but gets interrupted by Curt. He says they have no chance…until Sam walks in and says he will help them to win. They sing and then Santana tells him off – in her usual style. Which means she is glad he is back.
Quinn approaches Sam and right away wants to get back with him. She even has the balls to say he would make a great father to Beth when she gets her back. Sam steps in and tells her to stop. He is enjoying his senior year and she should too. Quinn doesn’t seem to like that much.
The boys are practicing for sectionals and trying to determine what will allow them to win without girls. Sam shows them a move – from his stripper training, of course – that will get the girls. And Blaine freaks out and says he isn’t for sale. Finn goes after him and apologizes and says they need to work together. Are they really going to do stripper moves?
Sam is holding Mercedes’ hand and she tells him to let go. She has moved on and he needs to as well. But he surprises her and says he will fight to get her back.
Tina talks to Michael’s father and pleads with him to allow Michael to dance. He says her parents aren’t being honest with her and there is no future happiness for them if they both dance. Will her words matter to him? Yes, because he almost didn’t allow Michael to attend the sing off…
Time to see some performances!
Quinn wants to confront Finn and blab what she knows about Puck. But Rachel stops her and tells her to at least be an adult about it and wait until after their two teams perform. And she listens!
The Treble Tones get on stage and do a great job.
The New Directions take the stage and do a superb job as well. And Michael’s dad walks in to see him. Wow! And New Directions get two songs…or three. Why is that? OK, it’s just the guys doing Michael Jackson. Wait – now the girls are back. Where are the stripper moves?
Michael’s dad comes backstage and wants to see Tina and Michael. Oh oh. But then he says he realized it was his dream and vowed to support them. Oh. My. Gosh. But Michael realizes the deadline for applications has passed…until Tina says she did it for him.
The results are in – 3rd place goes to no one, no one from McKinley High that is. 2nd place goes to the Treble Tones and New Directions get first. The Treble Tones seem a bit shocked.
Quinn realizes to keep the secret of Puck and Shelby and that she loves her child too much to ruin anything for her.
Lots of growing up done on the show tonight…
