Glee 3 returns tonight with an exciting episode that marks an important milestone for Rachel, Kurt and Blaine. But our sights are already turning to next week’s episode. If you don’t want to find out what happens, look away now.
Santana’s coming out was always going to be a major storyline for Glee 3, and we can reveal it will all kick off in episode 5, entitled Mash Off. But that’s not all that’s in store for us Gleeks.
First, Quinn gets frustrated she doesn’t manage to have Shelby declared an unfit mother for Beth. In a bid to keep her friends close but her enemies closer, she joins The Troubletones. This caused Puck to have a complete meltdown. Yes folks, he cries. So there’s no place for Quinn in a rival gee club and she is even more determined to get the baby back. Yes, I know this isn’t likely, but work with it for the sake of the drama, OK?
Shelby does better with Rachel, asking her to get into art school in New York.
Brittany is elected as Senior Class President perhaps because of her Topless Tuesday pledge, but Rachel feels so bad for running against Kurt that she pulls out anyway.
As is Brittany’s election was not exciting enough, Santana is outed. It all starts with her fight with Finn, who is not just mad at rival Rory. Santana is also angry Mercedes is voted head of The Troubletones instead of her, so she starts badmouthing Finn, and in the heat of the moment, he tells Santana to come out of the closet already so she can stop making everyone as miserable as she is. Ouch!
As if you couldn’t guess already, that little comment is overheard. The eavesdropper is Sue’s rival in the Congressional race, so soon there is a Sue Supports Lesbians smear campaign against her. There it goes again – Glee setting up stereotypes only to (hopefully) shoot them down again. You have to suspend your disbelief here again a bit as photos of Santana as Sue’s main supporter get bandied about (like that’s legal with a minor.)
This all has a really bad effect on Santana and she messes up in the mash off between The Troubletones and New Directions. But don’t worry, she keeps it together long enough to get revenge on Finn. Now that’s GOTTA hurt!
Glee’s Mash Off airs on Tuesday, November 15, 8/7c. But tune in tonight for First Time and feel smug because you know what’s going to happen in the future.
