Pop star George Michael has split from his partner of 15 years, Kenny Goss. It has been reported by the UK’s “Sun” Newspaper that Goss had finally had enough of George’s drug problems and his tendency for that to get him on the wrong side of the law. Now he has walked out on the singer and the homes they shared together in the UK and Goss’ native America.
Friends of the former Wham! Star who has gone on to mega-stardom both sides of the Pond with his solo career have been predicting a split for some time but Kenny Goss remained loyal, even after George Michael was sentenced to 8 week in prison for driving while under the influence of drugs.
“I went to prison, I paid my bill,” George said of his prison time.
He had been arrested and punished several times with driving bans and heavy fines, prior to his 2010 imprisonment. George just finally ran out of second chances with the British and American legal systems and so, it seems, he did with his American partner.
Kenny Goss (51) has increasingly spent time in America, running his own highly successful gallery. However, George Michael had feared a return to America after his gross indecency charges for picking up men in the bathroom of a New York park, and his single “Shoot the Dog”, which poked fun at the war on terror.
Friends hope the break-up will be a much needed wake up call for 47 year old George Michael that will help him get his life back on track. But if prison didn’t do that, what are the chances?
What do you think? Have we seen the last of George Michael’s drug driving? Can he mend his relationship with Kenny Goss?
