Douglas’ publicist assistant, Eli Barach, has confirmed that the actor will undergo both radiotherapy and chemotherapy in a bid to beat the potentially life-threatening disease. The 65 year old actor is hopeful of making a full recovery so let’s hope that is the case, especially since his 10 year May-December marriage to Catherine Zeta Jones (aged 40) has given them two sons.

The Academy Award-winning actor’s treatment is scheduled to last eight weeks. However, it is not yet known where the medical treatment will take place and he is currently said to be staying outside of the US with is actress wife. Their main home is on Bermuda, where they live together with their two young children.

Let’s hope that the premiere signals the beginning of better things for Michael Douglas, because it’s been a tough year already for the Hollywood star. Back in May, his son, Cameron, was sentenced to 5 years in prison for drug possession and distribution. Michael was at the time said to be in favour of the sentence, hoping that it would rid Cameron of his drug addiction and make a new man of him, but it clearly distressed him to see his son imprisoned as he stood by him throughout the trial.

Michael Douglas was working right up to his cancer diagnosis, having recently shot Oliver Stone’s “Wall Street 2: Money Never Sleeps”, sequel to the Oscar winning performance in the earlier movie of the same name. The movie premiered at Cannes in May and will open in cinemas September 24th.

It has not yet been announced when the baby is due but it is good news for Alanis, who previously dated actor Ryan Reynolds, also told her fans of her marriage via Twitter.

“So happy to share with you that my man Souleye and I got married. We’re very excited to embark on this journey with each other,” she wrote after her wedding ceremony, which took place at the couple’s Los Angeles home. She has since been quoted as saying that marrying Mario was the smartest thing she ever did.

Apparently, the news came as a complete shock, according to the mum-to-be herself. Appearing on U.S. talk show Chelsea Lately she said: “I talked to my doctor and he basically said, ‘This looks like the screen of a pregnant lady’. And I said, ‘There’s still chance that I’m not though, yes?’ And he said, ‘About as likely as me getting a sex change.’ And I said, ‘So when are you getting your sex change?’

“I actually thought I wasn’t (pregnant). I just sort of in passing had said I was a little late. He said, ‘Is that normal?’ I said, ‘No that’s not typical for me’. He goes, ‘Let’s take a quick look’… I was very happy.”

It’s good when a celebrity marriage works out, isn’t it? Even in this short term! So – how will this baby affect Alanis’ music and career? Will the edge be knocked off the ‘Ironic’ singer? Will she be reluctant to tour? Or is the news something we should all just celebrate? And can she really have not known she was pregnant?!!

Although maybe that’s unfair. This could be just the results of what seems to be an annual blow-out for the reality TV winner. There sure does seem to be something of a pattern here.

Maribel didn’t help herself any this time by refusing to give a blood sample, but her $500 bail was posted and she escaped waiting in jail for her case to be tried. It’s not her first bad experience on the bottle, either. She seems to hit the headlines after a drink at least once every year. Not even two hours into the ‘Bachelor’ wrap party in 2007, Delgado found herself under arrest for punching her fiance, Byron Velvick, in the face, resulting in cuts to his lip. She admitted at the time that alcohol had been a factor in the incident. Their relationship ended in December 2009.

The incident at the season finale clearly didn’t shock her out of drinking. The following year, Delgado was arrested for public intoxication, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct. She was released from Val Verde County Correctional Facility after her her bond was posted by Velvick.

So it seems that Maribel Delgado gets a little lively after a drink and then others need to watch out around her. What drunken outburst will follow for her in 2011? What other bad behaviour is she getting up to at what should be party time that we don’t get to know about? Is it time the law got tougher on her? And should Delgado give up the bottle for good if this is how she reacts?

Well, in a twist, in the most recent court appearance by the 40 year old former supermodel, she doesn’t get any more credible and The Hague lawyers accused her of lying. Why?

First, Miss Campbell shrugged off the gift as nothing special – something she gets all the time. Now even if the spoiled diva is used to receiving gifts, a handful of diamonds probably should still count as significant. Yet, she didn’t recognize these.

“They were dirty-looking pebbles. I’m used to seeing diamonds shiny and in a box. If someone had not said they were diamonds, I would not have known they were diamonds.”

Now, I don’t know about you, but in her situation (maybe mine too) I would think it even stranger to be presented with a gift of dirty pebbles than diamonds. Wouldn’t you?

But Naomi was clueless, apparently, and saw the warlord’s trial for crimes against humanity as none of her business, until she was threatened with jail if she did not testify. Once she took the witness stand, her story changed a little. Having always denied receiving blood diamonds – illegally mined stones from war-zones – she admitted that two men gave her the gems after knocking on her bedroom door after the charity do at Nelson Mandela’s South African mansion in 1997.

She was concerned enough to mention the next morning to fellow house guest Mia Farrow, who made her aware of Charles White’s presence and the likely source of the diamonds. Miss Campbell is then said to have given the stones to a friend – Nelson Mandela Children’s Fund chief Jeremy Ratcliffe – for his charity. However, the fund has denied all knowledge or receipt of the diamonds.

The ceremony is said to be planned as an intimate affair, with not even Robbie’s Take That partners in attendance. For some, this is a little suspicious. Will the wedding take place or is it just a publicity stunt? What do you think?

The official version has it that Robbie (36) and 31 year old American actress Ayda Field will marry this weekend on the beautiful island of Santa Catalina, off the California coast. The couple have been an item since 2006. Best man will be actor Jonathon Wilkes, a long time pal of Williams.

However, missing from the celebrations will be Williams’ Take That band mates – Gary Barlow, Mark Owen, Jason Orange and Howard Donald. All of them are said to be on vacation right now. So what is it – bad timing, the band’s reunion not as happy as they would like us to think, or are we being duped over a Robbie Williams’ wedding that will break millions of female fans’ hearts?

One thing that does seem genuine is the love that Robbie and Ayda have for each other. The couple are almost inseparable, spending every waking moment – and a good proportion of their nights – together. Few details of the ceremony have emerged and the guest list will be small and select. However, the couple will manage a 2-week holiday before Williams has to be back in the UK to begin promotion of the new Take That single ‘Shame’, due out in October – the first to feature the whole band reunited since their acrimonious split.

However, she said their working relationship was ‘good’. One wonders how much input Madonna’s daughter Lourdes, known as Lola, had in the collection, as they were said to work together on it.

Fashion isn’t the only area where Madonna likes to call the shots. She is said to be so obsessed with what she eats and that she flies with her personal chef. Madge’s diet forbids dairy, sugary or processed foods, which doesn’t sound beyond the capabilities of your average chef but Madonna doesn’t trust her cooking to anyone else. On a recent flight from New York to London, not only did Madonna and her entourage bring their own chef aboard, they took up an entire aisle in upper class – even though there weren’t enough of them to actually fill the area. Cabin crew were issued will rules such as not walking down her aisle or speaking to her directly. All communication had to be through her assistants.

The show was to mark the opening of a new hotel complex, Cratos Premium, in the northern Turkish Cypriot area of the popular vacation resort. The problem is – July 24 2010 – the date of this ill time celebration, is also the 36th anniversary of the Turkish invasion of Cyprus, and that act still remains deeply divisive on the island.

However, this could be a very expensive decision. The chief executive of the hotel’s Turkish management company has threatened to claim up to $40 million in damages from Ms. Lopez for breach of contract.
“The cancellation… is not covered by any clause in the contract she signed with us,” he said.

Her cancellation follows intense outrage for accepting an invitation to open the new hotel on the anniversary of the island’s 1974 Turkish invasion. The date also coincides with J.Lo’s 41st birthday so it looks like this is set to be a not so happy birthday for her. Ms. Lopez is the richest woman of Latin American descent in Hollywood, according to Forbes’ list, she is said to have a net worth of $110million. Still, it’s a huge chunk of cash.
