In just one week on TV, Eva Longoria was reduced to tears and clutching her jacket together to save her modesty. But she showed many sides of her personality and intellect in her round of interviews to promote her cookbook, “Eva’s Kitchen: Cooking with Love for Family & Friends”.
The tears came on the Piers Morgan Show when she was talking with the British interviewer about her split from ex-husband, Tony Parker. She had never talked about that publicly before and it was obviously hard for her. The “Desperate Housewives” actress finalized her divorce from and basketball player Parker in January. Yet, Longoria (36) was keen to stress that she wished the sportsman nothing but the best in life, even though she had found the divorce, prompted by alleged Tony’s adultery with Erin, the now ex-wife of his team-mate Brent Barry, “humiliating”. Longoria remained dignified and would not comment on those allegations in her interview. She admitted it had been hard to find her own identity after being “Mrs. Tony Parker” for so long, though. At that point she apologized for becoming tearful. Awww, bless her! However, she is keen to continue with “Desperate Housewives” for “as long as it keeps going”. Her love life is back on track, as she is now dating Eduardo Cruz, brother of actress, Penelope.
Elsewhere in the interview, Eva talked movingly of her “inspirational” sister, Lisa (43) who is mentally disabled. It was Lisa who inspired Eva to set up the charity Eva’s Heroes, which supports people living with the disability. We also got to know about Eva’s intellectual abilities. She is currently studying for a masters in Chicano (Mexican studies) and political science and is thirsty for knowledge.
On the David Letterman Show, we saw a more familiar Eva Longoria. Just more of her than we were expecting. She seemed a little over-dressed (or was that under-dressed) coming on stage in a barely-there tuxedo jacket, which soon popped open.
“That’s only part of a tuxedo,” the talk show host joked when the star arrived in hot pants and a low-cut jacket without anything underneath.
It’s not often that Letterman is left speechless, but he almost was when Eva’s jacket button popped open, almost revealing her naked breasts.
Laughing hysterically in embarrassment at the wardrobe malfunction, Eva grabbed her chest and said, “I’m sorry… but you didn’t see anything” when Letterman joked, “Oh lord, we’re going to lose our liquor licence.”
The cookbook, “Eva’s Kitchen: Cooking With Love For Family & Friends”, which she is promoting, has a mixture of Mexican and American food as that is what Eva grew up eating.
