Emily Maynard Confirmed for “Dancing with the Stars” New Season

Emily Maynard is about to further her reality TV career, becoming a contestant on the upcoming season of “Dancing with the Stars.”

Emily is newly single after things ended with “Bachelorette” winner…what was his name again…Jef Holm, but as well as a search for true love, it seems she’s on a mission to stay on our TV screens.

Emily Maynard is officially locked in as a contestant on the upcoming 16th season of “Dancing with the Stars,” and apparently she has known about it for six months!

“When she signed her contract to be on ‘The Bachelorette,’ ABC also had her sign on to commit to doing ‘Dancing with the Stars’. She loves being in the limelight,” a source told ‘Star’ magazine.

Yep, we’re beginning to realize that. And she sees the dancing show as a step towards a TV talk show. She wants to be famous and live the lifestyle.

So how will the paternal grandparents of Emily’s daughter Ricki take the “Dancing with the Stars” news?

Rick and Linda Hendrick are said to be horrified by the news that Emily wants to move to California,” said a source. “They can’t bear the thought of Ricki being that far away from them, she is the one thing that makes the pain of losing their son tolerable. They see so much of [their son] Ricky in their granddaughter, they love her to pieces and have become incredibly close to her – she keeps the memory of Ricky alive.”

While “The Bachelorette” shifted locations to Charlotte, North Carolina for Emily’s season of the show, she won’t have the same special privileges with “Dancing with the Stars.”

So what do you think about Emily Maynard appearing on “Dancing with the Stars”? Is it a good move for her to further her TV career? Should she be doing this at all because of Ricki – or is Ricki going to love seeing mommy dressed like a princess and dancing every week?
