Emily Maynard and Jef Holm have kept busy since their season of “The Bachelorette” wrapped in July. Last week Emily and Jef came back to the U.S. after traveling to Ghana to launch the operation of wells People Water — Jef’s business — helped drill. Locals in the village community now have fresh water and Emily was there to see the excitement. She enjoyed playing with the children and interacting with everyone.
“It wasn’t enough for her to just show up with the People Water crew and sit on the sidelines,” Jef said about Emily. “She brought the biggest suitcase I’ve ever seen full of dolls, toys, books and bubbles for the kids in every village. Emily was by far the most loved person on the trip.”
Over the weekend the couple attended “Bachelor” producer, Cassie Lambert’s wedding. Cassie was the woman who “Bachelorette” finalist, Arie Luyendyk, Jr., was involved years ago. Tabloids had a great time with that story while the show aired. Turned out it was blown out of proportion….which was no big surprise. Cassie married her fiance, Pete Scalettar, with “Bachelor” host, Chris Harrison, officiating.
Emily tweeted before the wedding Saturday:
“Can’t wait for two of my fave people ever get married tonight. Congratulations [Peter and Cassie]! I love you both so much!”
Jef Holm tweeted:
“Attended the best wedding last night! Vows, food, music, dancing etc Amazing time, thanks for inviting me!”
Now Emily and Jef are back to planning their future together. Jef will relocate to Charlotte where Emily and her young daughter, Ricki, live. As Jef said, he can conduct his work from anywhere, which is a fortunate thing for their situation. Once they feel Ricki is ready to move with them elsewhere, the two will decide where their new home will be.
Wedding plans for “The Bachelorette” couple aren’t specified yet, but they’ll live in separate homes until they marry.
