DWTS Ron Artest Seeks World Peace And The Glitterball Trophy

Dancing With The Stars celebrity Ron Artest has recruited his 8-year-old daughter Diamond into his plan to change his name to add World Peace to his moniker.

With a name like Diamond, she will be sure to shine even more as a star of world peace. However, unlike her Dad, Diamond has not yet started the legal process to change her name. But apparently Ron Artest is set to give his permission for the name change whenever she wants him to.

Meanwhile, things are not going so well in Ron Artest’s quest to change his name. He has been delayed in changing his name to Metta World Peace, which was supposed to become official last month, because a judge won’t agree to it until Ron Artest pays off his outstanding traffic tickets.

The new hearing to judge whether the Dancing With The Stars celebrity currently known as Ron Artest can change is name is to be held September 16. He already had a Los Angeles newspaper print four items about his new name.  Anyone looking to officially change their name in the State of California has to get a public declaration of the name change printed in a local newspaper four times, four weeks in a row. Well, Ron Artest managed that easily in June and July.

On July 19th, Ron’s final declaration to become Metta World Peace was published in the L.A. Daily Commerce. The name change was set to become official August 26th, until the judge brought up the unpaid traffic tickets.

The new hearing is set for September 16.  Since he has been signed up for the new DWTS it looks likely he can afford to pay the fines now. I hope so, as I am looking forward to his Dancing With The Stars celebrity being announced under his new name!
