Desiree Hartsock and Chris Siegfried are now in Seattle beginning their new life together. The pair just ended a weekend road trip from LA to Chris’ home in Washington state. The two will finally begin their real-life journey together without having to hide from the world due to “The Bachelorette” airing each week.
How will this new life suit the adorable couple? As fans are well aware, many fear their relationship won’t last. Desiree’s brother, Nate Hartsock, has never had a high opinion of “The Bachelor” or “Bachelorette” method of finding love. He’s especially unconvinced that his sister found the love of her life after Brooks Forester exited the show.
Nate spoke with Life & Style magazine, asserting that it’s obvious his sister “settled” for Chris when it was really Brooks she wanted.
“Desiree went on the show because she wanted to get married so badly and she wanted the family and to have kids,” Nate told L&S. “Obviously Chris wasn’t her first choice.”
Nate notes that for the time being, Desiree seems happy with him.
“She is happy with him and with how it ended up,” he said.
Nate also feels that Chris is just thankful to have Desiree.
“I think this will be a short engagement,” Nate said. “I could see a wedding happening even quicker than next summer. I think it’s obvious she settled for him, but Desiree is at the point where she’s ‘all in’ with Chris, and I think he is just happy he gets to be with her.”
Another source agreed with Nate’s views on Desiree’s choice of Chris over Brooks.
“She is madly in love with the idea of love and was madly in love with Brooks, but once she and Chris live together, she’ll realize she settled,” an insider said. “She’s deluding herself and she’s deluding Chris.”
Only time will tell if Desiree and Chris will make it long-term. One thing is for sure, it will take a long time before fans are fully convinced themselves that Desiree didn’t make the wrong choice.
