Demi Lovato Confesses to Past Cocaine Use

Demi Lovato has admitted that she used cocaine while she was battling personal problems.

Rumors of the Disney star’s drug use have been circulating for a while and now finally Lovato has addressed them.

“I used cocaine because I was depressed,” she said, admitting she was desperate to recreate the adrenaline rush of live concerts and she did that through cocaine use.

Demi Lovato sought professional help in 2010 for a number of issues, including an eating disorder, depression and self-harming.

Since leaving rehab she has apparently been very open about her personal problems. But up to this time, she had failed to respond to reports suggesting she was regularly involved in drug-taking in the past.

But now Demi has opened up about her cocaine use in a new interview with ‘Fabulous’ magazine.

“I would come off stage in front of 18,000 people and suddenly be alone in a hotel room. I’d come crashing down and would try and find a way to recreate that feeling to stay up.”

Furthermore, the singer claims she was regularly offered drugs and alcohol by promoters as an enticement to her to keep returning to certain venues.

“They were basically kissing my a__. I thought they were my friends. I thought I was having fun. Being a celebrity can be dangerous. Nobody says ‘no’. That’s why so many end up overdosing and dying. It could definitely have happened to me.”
