Dancing With the Stars Week 8: Double Dances For All

It is down to the final five couples. And to make tonight even harder, the couples all have to learn two dances! As if they weren’t having enough trouble learning one as it was, this is an instant dance! That means, they get the song and have to deliver the second dance without practice. Who can keep it up and who will get sent home after this round? We’ll see.

First up is Rob Kardashian and Cheryl. They have the quick step and the instant jive. Can they practice enough to satisfy Cheryl? Forget Cheryl, what about the judges? It looks pretty good. Rob has certainly taken what the judges said to heart and tucked in his bum. Len said he had a good frame and said this week was even better than last. They are going to have a great score – I can sense it. They get a 27.

They draw their song for the instant dance and get to practice for a few minutes. The next couple to take the stage is going to be Hope and Maks. They say they have come to a truce and will work together and it will show. Does their jive look any better? It might be better dancing, but it doesn’t fit with the song well. Will the judges recognize it? Bruno says it is the night of miracles – he says it was their best dance of the night too. What will they get for scores? How about a 27.

Ricki and Derek take the floor next. Ricki is out for perfection, since she doesn’t want the judges to have anything to call her out on. Can she get ten’s? From the way their dance looks, yes, she could. They did an awesome job. The judges did love them and they are rewarded with a 28. Bruno handed them a 10!

Nancy and Tristan show up to tango. Nancy looks like she has lost some weight, too. Can she make her tango look good enough to keep her from the bottom two this week? Everybody else is turning out great performances, but it looks like Nancy’s footwork is a bit too stiff still. What do the judges say? They loved her too. Carrie Ann says the dynamics were a lot better from the head turns to the footwork. Maybe they can stay…? Their score is a 24. It is good but still the lowest of the night.

JR and Karina dance and then it is time for the instant dances. How will these rate for the night, since they only get twenty minutes to practice? JR wants to get the first perfect dance of the season, but can he focus enough to do it? He seems to be joking too much for Karina, but he says that is his style for learning. They hit the floor and look marvelous. They might do it…the crowd and the judges love it. Bruno loved it and said he was a visual Valentine’s card. They did it – a perfect 30.

Back to the instant dances and here comes a new score to toss it all up. Rob and Cheryl are up first and seem to do a decent job. Not perfect, but not terrible either. The crowd liked it. The judges – a bit less. Their score is a 24. Combined they have a 51.

Hope and Maks are second. Can they bring the magic in this dance too? They look like they are doing a better job than they did the first time. Maybe it is a miracle night! Bruno says they were much better. Len says they were fantastic. Score – a 25. They have a 52 combined score.

Ricki and Derek are done practicing and come out to jive. Can they keep up the energy? It looked like it. Derek had all kinds of energy out there on the dance floor. Carrie didn’t like it as much, but it was tough after they had the waltz earlier. There score is a 24 with a 52 total. Tied with Maks and Hope.

Nancy is up with Tristan. Can she get the kinks out in time? Not so much. She looks nervous and they have a few missteps in the beginning. But so did everybody else. Can they make up for it with humor? Nope. I think the judges will get them here. Ouch – Len told her it was midnight and time to go home. Bruno was a bit more politically correct. Their score was a 20 with a 44 combined.

Last up is Karina and JR. Unless they bomb, they will get the high score of the night. How will they do? JR wants to kill it, so he is going at it with perfection in mind. And it looks like they have been practicing it all week. Great job. Can they get another perfect score? Bruno loved it, Carrie Ann said no one was even close. Their score was a 30. TWO 30s in one night!! They have a 60 on the night.

We know they aren’t going home tomorrow!
