Valerie Harper is a confirmed contestant on “Dancing with the Stars” season 17 airing this fall. 74-year-old Harper was diagnosed with a rare from of brain cancer back in March and given just three more months to live, according to her doctors. Apparently she’s doing well enough five months later to appear on the hit entertainment show.
Harper is reportedly two days into her practice sessions with “Dancing” pro-dancer, Tristan MacManus. She’s said to be doing well and hasn’t needed any assistance despite the grueling sessions rehearsals demand.
Valerie Harper’s appearance on the show is sure to inspire many who have fallen ill and have given a small amount of time to live. The “Mary Tyler Moore Show” star is well-liked and has an inner strength that will shine on the dance floor.
TMZ also reports that Leah Remini will be on “Dancing with the Stars” season 17. Rumors are now circulating that Nicole “Snooki” Pilozzi, Elizabeth Burkely, Amber Riley, and Christina Milian will appear on the show. Several others are believed to be contestants on the show as well, including John Stamos, Paula Deen, and Jo Dee Messina.
The official cast lineup of “Dancing with the Stars” season 17 will be announced Sept. 4 on ABC’s “Good Morning America.”
