It’s the semi-finals on Dancing With the Stars tonight. It’s going to be a huge night too! They have two individual dances, where one can even have lifts! Then the third dance is a group dance, where they will also receive scores. Three dances in one week – crazy! One couple is being sent home and the winner will be announced next week.
Hope and Maks are up first. Hope has an injury to her shoulder and she has to get some pain shots for it. Ouch! Makes doesn’t like the looks of the needle, either. They come out to another sexy dance, but will it be enough to keep her from the bottom? Len thought it was OK, Bruno thought they lacked control. Carrie Ann said they nailed the characters though! Score = 21.
JR gets to defend his first place spot by dancing second. Him and Karina also have some spills and injuries to deal with this week. Can JR work though his pain and stay on top of the leaderboard? He looks pretty good. The audience loved it too. But the judges didn’t. They can’t live up to last week. Len said they were weaker. They end up with a 23 for this round.
Rob and Cheryl are up. Are they injury free this week? It looks like it. They have great practices and Rob might be peaking at the perfect time. They have a cheesy entrance, but the dance looks pretty solid. He might have pulled it off. Carrie Ann loved it and said they were fantastic. Len didn’t like the float either but thought they were great. Bruno said he turned his handicap in to an asset. What do they get for a score? They get a 10 from Carrie Ann and ended up with a 28.
Ricki and Derek get to take the floor last. Will her injury fare better than Hope and JR’s? I hope so, because the yellow dress with feathers…is…well. Yellow. They come out strong and the dance looks pretty good from an entertainment standpoint. Will the judges like it? Len said they just danced their way in to the finals. Bruno loved it too. They end up with a 30 – perfect score!
Ricki on top, then Rob, JR and Hope is last.
Next round of dances coming right up…with the Argentine Tango. Hope and Maks look a bit forced. Lots of flexibility, but is it enough to beat Ricki’s perfect score and Rob’s best score of the season? Len said it was well done and the lifts were clean. This round is a 24, so they have a 45.
JR and Karina hit the dance floor again and look a bit put together and less sore this time around. Will the judges like it better too? They did and they ended up with a 27. Their total for both dances is 50, ahead of Hope.
Rob and Cheryl’s Tango is up. Will Rob keep up his streak of great dances? I’m not sure if it is as good as their first, but…it’s not terrible. Cheryl’s moves seem stilted. Or is it just the dance? What do the judges think? Carrie Ann said that was good, strong dances. Len said it doesn’t matter where you start, but where you finish. Wow. They get a 27 and they have a 55 out of 60.
Last of the single dances is Ricki and Derek. They only need a 25 to tie and a 26 to stay in the lead. How will they do? They come out strong and look light on their feet. Their lifts look great. Do we have another perfect score on our hands? Len said it was really, really good. Wow. Bruno said we were transported. They scored a 29, for a total of 59 of 60 points. Wow. Derek knows how to get the partners!
Last up is the group dance with a cha cha relay. This should be interesting. The couples work together, but yet against each other. The winning couple gets 10 points. Second place gets 8, then 6 and 4 points. Who looks the best?
Ricki and Derek come out strong, hot off their awesome performance. Hope and Derek come out and look OK. It looks better than the first time Hope did it. Karina and JR are moving pretty well, even though he has an injury. I think this will be pretty close…then Rob and Cheryl come out. They look strong again. Wow. How are they going to pick placements for this dance?
Len says they are going to argue over the winner. Bruno says the margin is so small, there will be discussion over the commercial. Carrie Ann says it wasn’t what she expected – what does that mean?
Top place goes to – Rob!
Then it is Ricki, JR, Hope.
Ricki has 68 points, Rob has 65, JR has 56 and Hope is last with 49.
