Cheryl Cole is considered by many people to be a beautiful woman with an amazing figure. Some would say she is now too thin. But it seems that the glamorous pop star and reality TV competition judge is just as insecure about her body image as the rest of us can be.
Cheryl Cole was the sweetheart of the British nation, who loved her cute dimpled cheeks and large, empathic eyes. OK, so thinks didn’t go so well for her Stateside, but she was still a TV favorite in Britain and they hoped she would return for the new season of X Factor UK.
But now it seems that throughout her impressive rise to pop stardom, Cheryl Cole has worried about her weight and how she looks. She has been purging and hitting the gym at 5am for years, her former minder claims.
A friend of Cheryl’s former bodyguard Craig Balkam told the Sunday Mirror that she regularly purged with the Maple Syrup diet and would work out “so hard she ended up getting sore legs.”
Cheryl Cole is also known for being a quite heavy smoker, especially for a singer. It’s unclear whether she still smokes, but at one time she had an at least 20 cigarettes a day habit. Nicotine is also known to suppress one’s appetite.
It’s claimed that after a hard day promoting X Factor, and herself, in the US, Cheryl would return to her LA hotel room and work out for hours, trying to fit in with the super-slim Hollywood crowd.
However, Cheryl also contracted malaria last year and lost a lot of weight through that. So other sources say she battled to gain some weight so she would have a curvaceous figure for her X Factor USA judging role that was so short-lived.
It is claimed that the former X Factor judge shunned the celebrity scene in LA, preferring to watch TV at the hotel.
Even before she was fired from The X Factor USA and attempts to get her back on The X Factor UK show failed, it is alleged that Cheryl often spoke about leaving showbiz and becoming “a normal person.”
Is showbiz getting too much for Cheryl Cole? What advice would you give her about staying healthy physically and mentally? Will she end up walking away from her celebrity status in the music business and on TV?
