The Girls Aloud star, who was confirmed last week as a judge on “The X Factor USA” has reportedly been booed by the audience during the show’s auditions. And as if that wasn’t bad enough, she is also said to have made some fans angry by where she was sat on the judging panel!
Things seemed to have got off to a good start, as fellow “X Factor USA” judge Paula Abdul complimented the “lovely” Cheryl Cole after the first day of auditions. Abdul (48) Tweeted: “Gotta tell you about Cheryl – ‘The Fierce’ is STRONG w/ this one! : ) she’s lovely!”
Day two of the auditions apparently didn’t go so well. Apparently, the audience booed Cheryl after she criticized a female act for their accent, commenting that she thought she was “singing in a foreign language.” Cole has a strong Geordie accent which was considered a major stumbling block to her landing the job, so it’s unfortunate that she picked up on someone else’s accent.
Cheryl Cole was booed again for her comments on a rapper who wasn’t “real” enough for her and a 13-year-old boy who she voted “No” to.
But the judges have been told to be tough.
More worrying may come in the form of Cole’s panel seating position. Paula Abdul sat next to Simon Cowell on the first day of auditions, but the next day she swapped seats with Cheryl, leaving the two Brits sitting next to each other. Apparently, US fans really didn’t like seeing Paula separated from Simon, as they liked to see their on-screen chemistry.
It looks like it may be a baptism of fire for Cheryl Cole as she attempts to crack America, via “The X Factor.”
