Charlie Sheen Rejects Alec Baldwin’s Advice

If we know anything about Charlie Sheen, we know that he doesn’t like being told what to do. Maybe it’s that tiger blood running through his veins. Maybe it’s certain other substances. Or maybe it’s just that the former highest paid American TV star thinks regular rules don’t apply to him. Whatever the reason, Sheen has made it plain he didn’t like the advice dished out to him by Alec Baldwin.

The “30 Rock” actor reached out to Sheen, letting him know that he appreciated where he was coming from. He had also been fired after he successfully playing Jack Ryan in 1990′s movie, “The Hunt for Red October”, Baldwin had to stand aside and watch Harrison Ford take over in the role of Ryan for future movies, “Patriot Games” (1992) and “Clear and Present Danger” (1994).

Baldwin says the producers’ decision to fire him was purely monetary and personally cost Alec millions of dollars. He was furious but he now says he does not regret moving on, and that is exactly what he advised Sheen to do.

“You can’t win. Really. You can’t,” wrote Baldwin. “No actor is greater than the show itself when the show is a hit.”

Alec Baldwin concedes that Sheen’s lawsuit against producers may be justified, but instead of pursuing that, Baldwin urged Sheen to “take a nap. Get a shower. Call Chuck (Lorre). Go on (David) Letterman and make an apology. Write a huge check to the B’nai B’rith (a Jewish human rights and advocacy organization). And then beg for your job back.”

Baldwin is adamant that is what Sheen fans wants: to see him back on TV, not on some Twitter rant or online soap. He added, “Buy (Jon) Cryer a really nice car.”

Sheen and his pals are unimpressed, and as one said,

“Charlie believes no one is smarter than he is. He doesn’t ask or take advice from anyone.”

On the other hand, Baldwin and Sheen have a lot in common. Both were movie stars and both made a comeback on primetime comedies, both had messy public divorces, and both have a history of making dubious comments in public. So if ever there was someone Charlie Sheen could learn from, couldn’t it be Alec Baldwin?

Charlie sheen *sigh* bless him. When you’re as drugged up as he is – you ain’t gonna take advice from anyone. . . . . .I just hope he physically survives long enough to be able to take a look at himself once he ‘sobers’ up.
