Charlie’s Angels Crew Member Fired for Butt Slapping Minka Kelly

A Charlie’s Angels crew member was fired after he slapped the butt of actress Minka Kelly. However, reports of the incident have been exaggerated elsewhere in the media.

It was initially reported that the man held a $100 bill when he slapped her bottom, which would give an altogether different connotation to the incident. It was also said that Minka Kelly slapped him back. She didn’t but it might have been interesting to note whether she got fired if she had done so.

Heck, we might have ended up with a better show, altogether, as a lot of critics slate Minka Kelly’s performance in this 2011 remake of the classic 1970s show.

So let’s hear the truth. Yes, the guy slapped Minka Kelly’s butt. And apparently she reacted in a very dignified way, telling him,

“Please don’t ever disrespect me or any other woman like that again.”

Who knows what was in the guy’s mind. Since the orginal Charlie’s Angels was full of such paternalistic sexuality, working on the show may have addled his brain. But that’s clearly no excuse for ABC executives.  The network has a zero-tolerance policy on sexual harassment, so he was immediately thrown off the set.

It later emerged that this was not the first such incident in which the man had been involved and he was subsequently fired.

That is apparently not what Minka Kelly wanted to happen. Apparently she was friendly with him before the incident (did that have a bearing on the case) and was upset he had lost a job for which he had relocated his family.

But ABC was adamant. The guy had acted inappropriately before and he had to go. Thoughts?
