Channing Tatum has announced he will take an indefinite hiatus break acting, starting sometime in 2013, to develop a movie idea with his producing partner, Reid Carolin, which Channing hopes to direct.
“[Reid and I] have about three to four ideas that we love that are all in the hopper. By the end of next year, we’re going to shut things down and write the first thing that we’re going to direct,” Channing said.
But don’t worry, Channing will still grace our movie screens a lot next year as he’s just done filming a whole bunch of movies like presidential action thriller “White House Down” and a medical drama “Side Effects,” from Steven Soderbergh, director of “Magic Mike.”Also, we will finally see “G.I. Joe 2” next year.
“I love the steps that I’ve taken acting-wise. That has been a wild sort of exploration,” Channing says. “But I don’t want to just keep putting [directing] off for these fun and incredible opportunities,” he said, so now we will get to see another side of Mr Tatum.
