We’ve all noticed Meatloaf struggling on “Celebrity Apprentice” – these struggles have many been linked to coping with a particular team-mate. Now the source of his frustration, Gary Busey, has been fired.
Meatloaf and Busey never really got along together and their relationship culminated in Meatloaf’s expletive-laden explosion over art supplies, which seemed largely undeserved but all the funnier for that.
In last night’s edition, we saw Busey act as project manager for team Backbone on a 20-minute live cooking demonstration for Omaha Steaks (three occasion specific meals and the Omaha Steaks Variety Pack, which each team had to create and name).
The boys hoped they could end a two-week losing streak but a total lack of organization on their part meant that wasn’t possible. This looked like it would be their week, especially when LaToya claimed she didn’t cook as she grew up with personal family chefs. Star Jones and Hope Dworaczyk worked together on their brand, but things got slightly awkward when Star tried to get Hope’s opinion on the positioning of the logo on the aprons. She didn’t seem to notice that she was grazing the chef’s crotch!
Meatloaf’s frustration with his team mates was palpable throughout the task and even Donald Trump remarked upon it back in the boardroom.
Trump did, however, try to say that Busey has a unique personality which may be like a breath of fresh air in the corporate world. But Meatloaf clearly wasn’t buying it. Trump asked him if he was bothered by Trump’s praise of Busey and many of us would be surprised by Meatloaf’s meek and calm, “Yes sir”.
Donald Trump responded by stating, “Well then you know what Meat Loaf? I’m going to make you very happy.”
Goodbye to Gary Busey.
