Lisa Lampanelli was one the contestants fired on “Celebrity Apprentice” 2012 Sunday night. She was let go right after winning the first challenge of the week 12 episode. Lampanelli and Clay Aiken were a two-person team on Forte who put out a great 4-page print ad for a CHI hairdryer Elle magazine wanted to publish.
Throughout the season Lisa has lambasted 2008 Miss Universe, Dayana Mendoza. She showed distinct signs of beginning to take on Teresa Giudice after Dayana was fired, but her war path was going to end sooner than expected when she was shown the exit. Does Lisa wish could take anything back at all regarding her temperament and harsh treatment towards Dayana? She spoke with an entertainment magazine about her experience on the show.
First of all, Lisa Lampanelli doesn’t believe for one second she was too mean to Dayana. It boiled down to being in a competition and working together long hours each day, which the viewers never saw fully. Was she too hard on Miss Universe?
“Absolutely not, because you guys did not see the 48 hours on each task that I had to deal with a gnat in my ear,” Lisa said. “Now, I get it. I was 25 myself once. I also thought I knew everything. I also thought that I could give singers singing advice and comics comedy advice. When you’re that age, you know it all so I understand it. But when you’re tired and you don’t have patience for it, you definitely snap.”
How did she feel about the editing on “Celebrity Apprentice” 2012 over how she was portrayed?
“I think the editing was fantastic because, first of all, it’s the greatest show. It’s been so much fun to watch. Me and Jimmy sit there with our group of gays every Sunday and we laugh our asses off. But also, they didn’t misrepresent me. That was exactly how I am and I was thrilled with it. I loved it. I didn’t even give it a thought. I said, ‘They’re going to be honest.’ And you know what? I’ve got to hand it to NBC — they actually were honest.”
For what it’s worth, Lampanelli didn’t believe she could have won “Celebrity Apprentice.”
“I’m not famous enough to be in the final two,” Lampanelli said.
She was happy to be on the 2012 season, but told her good friend and fellow “Celebrity Apprentice” contestant, Aubrey O’Day, the same thing.
Lisa told Aubrey, “Dude, I’m going home and I’m going to be happy about it because I can not wait to get some sleep. I can’t take it anymore.”
In spite of how it all went down, Lisa Lampanelli said she’d do it all over again because she wanted to be on the show for fame as much as raising money for her charity. She also had a lot of fun!
