Bristol (20) is the daughter of 2008 GOP vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin. She has now admitted that she underwent corrective jaw surgery in December 2010, a month after she finished third on ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars.”
Following the surgery, her face appears thinner and she has higher cheekbones and an angular jaw: exactly what people pay thousands for in plastic surgery. That sparked discussion following the April 30 White House Correspondents’ Association dinner in Washington, D.C.
But Palin denies it was due to plastic surgery. Her improved appearance is due to losing 5lb in weight on the dance show, and the overbite surgery.
“Yes, it improved the way I look, but this surgery was necessary for medical reasons,” she said. The procedure was necessary so that her jaw and teeth could properly realign.
As a teen, she wore braces and a corrective device for her overbite. But she said her dentist warned her that she’d have to have surgery one day. That day came in December 2010 and Bristol Palin is very pleased with the results.
“I look older, more mature and don’t have as much of a chubby little baby face,” she said.
But she says she is not obsessed by the way she looks and would only consider plastic surgery in extreme circumstances like if she was “in an accident or something terrible and got disfigured.”
Palin will be back on our screens later this year, starring in a reality series for the Bio Channel. The series is as yet untitled but it will follow her move from Alaska to Los Angeles with her son, Tripp, to work at a small charity. She will live with actor brothers Kyle and Christopher Massey. Kyle Massey is a fellow “DWTS” contestant and a good friend of Bristol Palin.
