Boycott Kardashians Petition Gaining Support

Not everyone wants to try Keeping Up With The Kardashians. In fact, some people are so sick of the reality TV family that they have got together a grass roots petition to have the whole family taken off the air. The petitioners have also reached Celebrity News and Style and called for people to boycott the Kardashians, and not only that, to sign their petiution to have the family removed from our TV screens.

Several organizations are now petitioning to get Kim, Kourtney, Khloe and the rest of the Kardahian family off the TV.

Cyndy Snider, the organizer of a petition on GoPetition said in a statement that her petition had collected thousands of signatures. She is asking E! Entertainment to remove all the Kardashian shows from their programming.

The problems they have with these reality TV shows I that they are staged, not genuine, and “place an emphasis on vanity, greed, promiscuity, vulgarity and over-the-top conspicuous consumption,” according to Snider.

By yesterday, the No More Kardashian petition, launched on November 2, had more than 10,000 signatures.

As Snider points out, not everyone who watches these shows takes them with the pinch of salt that much of the Kardashian shows probably deserve. Some people, particularly teenagers, look up to the family and aspire to have their lifestyle. Some even treat them as role models.

However, Snider is keen to point out that the Kardashian family fame largely started with a “leaked” sex tape.

Facebook also has Boycott Kardashians pages. Also, director Tyler Perry’s website has been bombarded with posts demanding that he remove Kim from her role in his new movie, The Marriage Counselor.

Speculation that Kim’s 72 day marriage to Kris Humphries was a hoax staged for the cameras has increased the calls to remove the Kardashians from their TV roles, even though the claims have been strongly denied by Kim Kardashian.
