Bobbi Kristina Brown is doing her first interview after the death of her mother, Whitney Houston, with Oprah Winfrey. We already told you that. But what we didn’t know then is that a whole bunch of topics is going to be off-limits for discussion in the interview. Including Bobbi Kristina’s alleged substance abuse.
So will Oprah Winfrey’s interview with Bobbi Kristina be worth seeing at all?
We will only really be able to judge by watching it when it airs this Sunday, I guess. But let’s examine what we are likely to find out in this interview.
Bobbi Kristina has made her reasons plain for going with Oprah for her first interview after Whitney Houston’s death. She said she is doing it because Oprah is a close family friend and Bobbi trusts her to be fair and respectful.
Bobbi has told friends that Oprah “was loyal to my mom, and never did my mother wrong, or made her look bad. She always looked out for my mom.”
So Bobbi is trading on the fact that she will be accorded the same respect. Which means no bringing up of issues that could potentially show Bobbi in a negative light, such as substance abuse.
That means we won’t get the lowdown on what happened to her in the hours between her mother’s coming home service and her funeral. We won’t get discussion of how people described Bobbi as being “wasted” at the burial. And we probably won’t even get to hear about her two hospitalizations in the 24 hours after Whitney Houston’s death. You can also probably forget about learning anything about Bobbi’s own near-miss in the bath tub just a few days before her mother met her tragic fate.
Still, if you want to see a daughter’s loving tribute to a famous mom, you should probably watch Oprah Winfrey’s interview with Bobbi Kristina Brown on Sunday. It’s not yet clear whether or not Bobbi is being paid for the interview.
