The reality TV couple, who wed in a bohemian-style wedding ceremony on January 19 met in 2011 while filming Big Brother 13. But it wasn’t love at first sight for Daniele.
“Truth be told, I really didn’t like him at first. I thought he was a little troublemaker,” she told “People” magazine.
But they became friends and she says love grew out of that friendship. After the show’s finale, “We became inseparable” and as they got to know each other better, they “fell in love,” she said.
What was the proposal like Dominic took Dani on a road trip last August and they stopped at the St. Louis Zoo. Apparently they both love penguins, because they mate for life. So as they were playing with a couple of little penguins brought out to them by the keepers, Dominic popped the question.
It’s not exactly a traditional proposal, but Daniele apparently loved it. Their wedding was far from traditional too.
“We wanted something that was a good reflection of who we are” and a traditional ceremony is “not exactly us,” Daniele Donato said, admitting she is “sort of a hippie girl,” and after looking at “maybe 1,000 dresses,” she found the perfect one, a vintage-style dress: “vintage but modern with little sequins in copper.”
Sounds nice! And for once, it was harder to find the guy something to wear. Eventually for the wedding Dominic wore dark purple Gap pants with a matching plaid shirt and a cardigan with an off-white bow tie and matching Converse shoes. Sounds…interesting.
The couple wed at the Newland House Museum in Huntington Beach, California last Saturday afternoon in front of 120 guests.
They have not planned a formal honeymoon yet but Dominic said, “I’ve always wanted to go to an airport and take the next flight to wherever it goes…That’s what we’re going to do.”
Daniele doesn’t care where theyy go for the honeymoon. “All I care about is that I married my best friend, and we’re going to share our lives together,” she said. “We mesh so well. We don’t like being away from each other. We love being around each other so much. That’s enough for me. I couldn’t be happier.”
That’s so lovely, isn’t it! Many congratulations to Daniele Donato and Dominic Briones.
