Bentley Williams – Bachelorette 2011 Villain Leaves But Will Return! Thoughts?

If you haven’t watched tonight’s episode of The Bachelorette and you don’t want to know what happens, do not read any further – warning there are major spoilers ahead.

Bachelor Bentley Williams sparked a significant amount of controversy in the first two episodes of the new season. His comments about how he detested kissing Ashley and how she doesn’t have the checklist of what he’s looking for in a wife were inappropriate but his behavior tonight was downright unacceptable.

After going on a group date with Ashley, Bentley reveals to her the next morning that he’s leaving the show because he misses his daughter. The reality is that he doesn’t like Ashley and is not interested in her at all and he was wishing it was Emily Maynard as the Bachelorette instead of Ashley.

Needless to say, Ashley is crushed and begins crying uncontrollable, whining about how she doesn’t know how she’ll go on with the show…blah, blah, blah.

Did Ashley deserve what Bentley did to her? Probably not. Was she naïve to think he was actually into her when she was told by one of her friends that he was bad news? Absolutely.

Fans may be upset to learn that tonight’s episode is not the last we’ll see of Mr. Bentley – he’ll be returning in episode 6 to have another chance to talk to Ashley.

Bentley vs. Ashley – who’s side are you on after tonight’s fiasco?

I am about fed up with all of this drama. Although I have been an avid Bachelor/Bachelorette watcher – I have had enough. This season is a new low. This is the most “ridiculous” season yet. You let someone lowlife like Bently come in and totally discredit your show. You let him make a fool out of Ashley (who doesn’t need any help at doing that) and of your show. This is the last season I will ever be watching.

I agree the producers of the show had a responsibility to Ashley. They should have told her she was being manipulated. They put their ratings over her well being. Maybe they need to reevaluate their policies and make sure there is a line that cannot be crossed. Or, what is the point of doing the tv program dedicated to helping singles serious about finding marriage.

  4. I agree with Kris, Junebug & Margaret. The Bachorette is someone whom all of the men are supposed to be competing. They are also supposed to be looking for love, too. For a fraud like Bentley to come on, and for the producers to have a roast of Ashley is in the worst taste I ever saw on all of the Bachelor /and/ette shows. Ashley has her ownind of beauty, and dances beautiful, and shouldn’t be sold short. She has a dancer’s figure and she is not flat chested, she is just Ashley, with what she has, and physical is not everything. I have read she is wearing wigs. Look closely and you will see she is wearing her own hair, you can tell by the pony tails. People who put her down physically in comparison with the vapid Emily are superficial. To call her Brad’s left over is wrong. I had the feeling when Ashley was with Brad that Brad actually wanted her to stay, but because she was unsure of herself she let it go. She was a finalist.

She may have shown her emotions but she was gutsy. I don’t want to read any spoilers but I am willing to bet JP is the one for her. He never got to the roast, thank goodness.

Kris – I read interviews as well but I still call bull on the part of the producers/Chris H – they should have SHOWN her footage or a transcript of some of the things Bentley said (not just warn her he’s not good for her. which means nothing). Saying you warned her is just talk if you didn’t show her evidence (which I read he admits they did not do).

last night i was also really angry at the producers, but after reading interviews today, chris harrison actually broke some of the rules by how strongly he pushed ashley to kick bentley off the show. the producers tried to warn her as much as they could without actually showing her the confessionals. they said that she defended bentley at every turn wondering why no one else could see the good in him. it totally sucks because i think we’ve all been in that position at some point, believing in a guy and wondering why no one else can see the good in him, only to find out that everyone else is right and he’s just a user. it’s humbling and mortifying for her i’m sure. and while part of me just wants to yell “stupid stupid stupid” at her, it’s the pot calling the kettle black. this does not, however, diminish my desire to freaking rip bentley’s head off in the slightest!!

Agreed with Margaret. I am not only angry at Bentley but also angry at the producers/Chris H/the show. They should have shown her footage or a transcript of some of the things Bentley said.

Also, ‘the roast’ date, was a TERRIBLE idea, especially to do to a woman who had insecurities last season. Between that and Bentley, what a terrible episode. She was humiliated (and will be further when she watches Bentley’s interviews), insecure and will probably have a very hard time trusting the other men.

Ashley did not deserve such terrible treatment – by the show, by the stupid men who made cruel jokes, by Bentely, and by the show in which she is putting her trust into. This episode was a disgrace. It makes men look really bad, ABC look bad… I’m disgusted and appalled.

This is the most annoying episode i have ever watch! I can’t believe the producers let the ill treatment goes this far and for allowing such pig to be on the show. Women are human being and not something doll or accesory a jerk can toil with. I blamed Ashley for not listening to her friend or at least tread with caution. Such people should nevevr be allowed to go closer on any show involving human being talkless of kids. He says he has a daughter that will sometime grow up and will be in that position, looking for love……..what goes arround comes arround. If I should continue I will say something negative. Tonight show is just not something to show to your kids. Nobody has the right to treat them like a dog or unwanted being.
