As ‘The Bachelor’ season 17 draws to a close and Sean Lowe is left with only having to decide between a trio of women (although he made his choice in reality a few months ago) a story has emerged that he offered to donate his sperm to help[ his sister start a family. And we can be among the first to clear up whether there are any little Sean Lowe Juniors out there.
Stories have circulated today that the hunky Texan insurance agent offered to donate his sperm to his sister after she and her husband experienced ongoing fertility problems.
Apparently, Lowe’s sister, Shay Shull and her husband, Andrew, had been trying to have a baby for several years, and after they had thirteen months of unsuccessful intrauterine inseminations, Sean made his generous offer to donate sperm.
A family insider said, “Not only were Shay and her husband devastated. Family is everything to him and having kids is a big part of it. But month after month, he heard the same disappointing news, his sister wasn’t pregnant.”
So apparently offered to donate his sperm to his sister and his husband.
In case you are thinking it’s weird that Sean was offering to impregnate his sister, the idea was that Sean would donate his sperm to a surrogate so that she and her husband, a former college football team mate of Sean’s, could have a baby with the Lowe genes.
But the websites saying that they don’t know whether Sean actually did go as far as donating his sperm to his sister obviously haven’t done their research. Shay’s own blog today reports:
“After thousands of dollars, 6 IUIs, a miscarriage, a D&C and more drugs then I’ll ever be able to count, I became pregnant without any of it. God likes to show his glory and might on his own terms in unexpected ways…he gave me my miracle baby. And onSeptember 15, 2008, I gave birth to Kensington Kate.
Then…God thought he would really make his point clear, and onJune 5, 2009, I found out I was pregnant again…and I had a 6 month old.
After all of that money…all of that trying…all of the doctor appointments…all of the prayers…God gave me two freebies. Kensington and Smith came on the Lord’s terms…on the Lord’s time…and it was exactly what I needed. I just didn’t know it before.”
So that clears that up. There are no little Sean Lowe babies out there (not to his sister, anyway) but that doesn’t take away from “The Bachelor’s” kind offer, does it?
