Emma Bunton, formerly Baby Spice of the British pop girl band, The Spice Girls, announced her engagement to British singer Jade Jones live on national TV on Sunday evening. The news follows her pregnancy Tweet in November.
The announcement of impending wedding bells came on the ITV 1 show ‘Dancing on Ice’ where the Brit singer turned TV personality is now a judge of the pro-celebrity ice dance routines. Previously, Bunton scored an impressive 9 number one hit singles in the British charts with The Spice Girls before the band split in 2000.
It seems that Emma’s long-term boyfriend and father of her 3 year old son, Beau, gave her a special surprise gift for her 35th birthday this weekend – a twinkling diamond engagement ring! She also Tweeted the news as: “Yahooooo I’m engaged!” and called the celebration her “best birthday”.
Emma seemed to glow with happiness at the news of her engagement, which she said had made her “a very happy lady”. Emma also posted a TwitPic of her beautiful diamond engagement ring.
Emma Bunton and her fiancé, Jade Jones, a singer with R&B group, Damage, have been together for around 10 years now and as well as having a son together (Beau Lee Jones) Emma is pregnant with their second child, due in May 2011. She can compare baby bumps with another former Spice Girl, Victoria Beckham (Posh Spice) who is expecting her own fourth child with soccer star husband, David Beckham, in summer 2011.
