Baby Boy for Orlando Bloom and Miranda Kerr

“Pirates of the Caribbean” star, Orlando Bloom (33) and his Australian wife, Miranda Kerr, a ‘Victoria’s Secret’ model, welcomed a baby boy into the world on Thursday at a Los Angeles hospital.

The couple had a quiet wedding in July of last year, just a month after announcing their engagement. That followed a three year relationship between the Hollywood actor and the Australian supermodel. At the time, Kerr hinted that babies were definitely to feature in their future. Given the dates, it looks like she knew something we didn’t know!

Miranda Kerr kept a beautiful figure throughout her pregnancy and even appeared in some catwalk shows while pregnant. She has said she has no plans to retire from modeling and is determined to make motherhood mesh with her modeling career in the way that others like Heidi Klum have done so successfully.

“I’ve always been open about wanting to be a mother one day, and I’ve always thought Orlando would be a great dad,” Kerr said shortly after her wedding.

As yet, no name has been announced for the baby so watch out for an update when that happens. The birth weight was kept private too. It is known, though, that Orlando was present at the birth, which had been anxiously awaited after a false alarm on Christmas Eve.

Bloom is yet to confirm whether he will again play Legolas the elf in Peter Jackson’s two part epic of “The Hobbit” due out in 2012 and 2013, respectively.
