Audrey Hepburn is the Most Beautiful Woman in the World

The late, great actress, Audrey Hepburn, has been voted as the most beautiful woman of the last 100 years, in a poll by TV shopping channel QVC. She beat Cheryl Cole into second place and left many other modern day beauties trailing in her wake.

Hepburn is probably most famous for her starring role in the class movie, ‘Breakfast At Tiffany’s’. She triumphed over such beauties as Scarlett Johansson and even Angelina Jolie to reach the top spot. Even Marilyn Monroe could only make it to third, behind Hepburn and the beautiful and high profile Girls Aloud member, Cheryl Cole.

Despite her tragically early death in 1993 from cancer at just 63, Audrey still managed to beat off stiff competition from today’s modern beauties.

An interesting fact is that only women were surveyed. 2000 of them. Would the answer have been different of men’s votes were counted? Are men more likely to have opted for modern women they see all the time on the TV and the covers of magazines, or the classic beauties that many women today strive to emulate in looks and style?

This is Hepburn’s second 2010 triumph. The little black Givenchy number she wore in ‘Breakfast At Tiffany’s’ was named as the best female outfit of all time. It’s largely because of this movie and this outfit that we HAVE ‘a little black dress’. Go on, ladies. Admit it. We’ve all either got one or want one!

Lovefilm editor Helen Cowley explained why Audrey was a deserving winner: “Audrey Hepburn has truly made that little black dress a fashion staple which has stood the test of time despite competition from some of the most stylish females around.”

Here is the full top 10 of the world’s most beautiful women in the last 100 years:
1. Audrey Hepburn
2. Cheryl Cole
3. Marilyn Monroe
4. Angelina Jolie
5. Grace Kelly
6. Scarlett Johansson
7. Halle Berry
8. Diana, Princess of Wales
9. Kelly Brook
10. Jennifer Aniston

What do you think? Is Audrey Hepburn a deserving winner? Who’s missing from this list? Who would you choose?

I predict that Audrey Hepburn will be topping lists like these for about as long as civilization can record. She was the modern Era’s Helen of Troy in terms of beauty.

Love Audrey Hepburn! Who is Cheryl Cole? I looked her up and she looks like Natalie Portman’s less pretty sister. Something was rigged. Left out was Elizabeth Taylor and Natalie Wood.

Hepburn had food issues her whole life , wonder what she’d look like if she’d gained a few pounds? How about Salma Hayak? She’s far too short – but still well sexy :)

I definitely agree that Hepburn should be first. I think Elizabeth Taylor should have been second. She is certainly one of the most (naturally) beautiful women ever! Hedy Lamarr was gorgeous as well.

I am a huge fan of Audrey Hepburn in fact she is my idol but Elizabeth Taylor is known as the most beautiful woman in the world. I loveeeeeeeee elizabeth taylor and I am always appalled at her beauty. I have seen almost all of her movies and she takes my breath away. She should of been number one!

The most beautiful woman of all time (in her prime) was Hedy Lamarr.

I would give 2nd place to a young Catherine Deneuve.

    Most photogenic? Greta Garbo.

Meant to type Johansson of course. Jenny Aniston is a sweet pretty person, but also far from beautiful. How about Sophia Loren?

Scarlett Johabsson doesn’t belong in the list at all. Where is the beauty? Am I missing something?
