Army Base Cancels Ted Nugent Concert: Others to Follow? (VIDEO)

Ted Nugent’s scheduled performance at the Fort Knox base in Kentucky has been cancelled amid controversial comments he made about President Barack Obama, who is running for re-election.

A statement posted to an official Fort Knox Facebook page read,

“After learning of opening act Ted Nugent’s recent public comments about the president of the United States, Fort Knox leadership decided to cancel his performance on the installation”.

Musician Nugent (63) was scheduled to make an appearance at Fort Knox on June 23, as part of the ‘Midwest Rock n’ Roll Express’ tour. But during a speech at a National Rifle Association (NRA) convention in St. Louis, Missouri, Nugent stated that he would “either be dead or in jail by this time next year” if Obama were to be re-elected.

Nugent later stood by his comments, stating that he meant no harm towards the president with his words.

He has since met with members of the Secret Service in order to discuss language that some critics believed alluded to violence against Obama.

Co-headliners REO Speedwagon and Styx are still due to perform.
