British singing star Amy Winehouse’s problems have continued with her on to her latest tour. After being offstage in Belgrade on Saturday evening, she has now decided to cancel all remaining dates on her summer tour in Europe. No real reason has been given for the cancellation but anyone who saw her dismal performance in Belgrade would need any further explanation.
Amy Winehouse cancelled her entire summer tour after her Saturday evening concert in Belgrade turned into a nightmare.
Winehouse was an hour late and was barely able to sing or move around the stage. But things got worse, as the “Rehab” singer forgot where she was. She greeted the crowd of over 20,000 people by saying, “Hello, Athens!”
The embarrassment was too much for the 27-year-old retro-soul singer. She canceled last night’s concert in Istanbul and tomorrow’s in Athens.
Winehouse’s battle with drugs and alcohol have been well documented. She has more than once checked into rehabilitation facilities for treatment. Her latest rehab stint was only this past May.
Reps for Winehouse said, “Despite feeling sure that she wanted to fulfill these commitments, she has agreed with management that she cannot perform to the best of her ability and will return home. She would like to apologize to fans expecting to see her at the shows but feels that this is the right thing to do.”
Is it all over for Amy Winehouse. Some critics are predicting that her once promising music career will not recover from this latest disappointing scandal.
