Amy Adams is the New Lois Lane

Amy Adams has secured herself the coveted role of Lois Lane the upcoming “Superman” movie, directed by Zack Snyder. It has been confirmed that the former Oscar nominee, who preciously starred in “The Fighter”, will play the love interest of Clark Kent, whom we all know dons his underpants over his clothes and rushes off to save the world. It’s a tough job, but someone’s gotta do it! And Adams found out a couple days ago that she was the woman chosen for the job of standing by him through all his trials and tribulations.

There had previously been a lot of talk about who would take on the role of Lois Lane, which is viewed as a major female lead in Hollywood. We have known for a while that Henry Cavill (The Tudors) was to play Superman, but there was a massive search for someone to play his girlfriend. But Snyder says that when he met Adams “I just felt she was perfect for it”. Her recent work has included a forthcoming adaptation of the classic Jack Kerouac novel, “On The Road”.

“Superman: Man of Steel” is reported to be the most realistic portrayal of the superhero to date. The producer and director’s challenge in bringing “Superman” up to date is in making the eponymous hero “relevant and real” and enabling an audience to see his human side so that we understand him, Snyder said. Lois Lane will help us do that. It is also known that Superman’s adoptive parents will be played by Diane Lane and Kevin Costner.

I’m pretty excited about seeing Amy Adams in the Lois Lane role but what do you think?
