America’s Next Top Model 17: All Stars

America’s Next Top Model picked some of the best contestants from the last sixteen cycles to come up with an all-star cast for cycle 17. This season features some of the most popular models – because of their diva like ways or simply because they were truly beautiful inside and out – to compete for the top prize. The top prize happens to be a $100,000 contract with Cover Girl, along with a spread in Italian Vogue, a guest correspondent position with the TV Show Extra and work with the clothing store Express. Not too bad for being able to strike a pose.

There are 14 girls who have been brought back from various seasons, because of their looks, their potential and their drama. Because we all know, drama creates buzz. Buzz draws viewers.

The first task is a photo shoot in the in the backyard of the model’s house. They need to take a picture that captures the essence of who they are. And some of these girls, they must not know who they really are – or what they look like doing it. There was everything from Super Gay to Party Girl.

Once the pictures were completed, the girls went to present their picture in front of a live audience and to the judges. The guest judge for this show included Nicki Minaj. Nicki was very impressive with her knowledge of modeling and in her thorough and fair critique of the pictures that were presented. Kudos to the producers who picked her!

The most memorable models who walked the runway and talked to the judges were: Brittany and Alexandria. Alexandria because she got booed and called a bitch and Brittany because she inhaled the microphone yelling an obscenity. Besides these two, the highlights from each picture presentation seemed clipped and sped through quickly to get to the end.

There was a twist when these models were judged before they were sent home – the audience members also got to give their two cents on who they liked the best! So, in addition to the judges’ scores, they also took in to account the audience reaction and factored that in the overall decision on who to send home.

The crowd obviously had their favorite – Allison. But Isis was named the best photo of the night. After scores were tabulated, Brittany and Alexandria were in the bottom two. And it wasn’t a surprise, since their presentations stood out for negative reasons.

Who ended up being sent home – again, as Tyra liked to say?

Brittany. No more pictures for this party girl.
