America’s Got Talent Recap: Goodbye To The Stuttering Soldier

Last night on ‘America’s Got Talent,’ two of this season’s most talked about contestants got the boot. Tim Poe and Andrew De Leon failed to impress the judges in Las Vegas and were axed.

Poe (35) raised a firestorm after he lied about being injured on active service in Afghanistan in 2009. Unfortunately for him, the Minnesota National Guard were quick to shoot his falsehoods down in flames.

Tuesday’s ‘America’s Got Talent’ was taped before news broke of Poe’s apparent deceit. It’s a shame that his cover of George Strait’s ‘The Chair’ failed to impress the judges as I’d have loved to see him go before them at the live stages, now we know he lied about his military past.

“I don’t know that he holds up to other singers on this show at all,” Howie said about Poe.

It was left to Sharon to pass on the bad news that Poe was being cut.

He had said that is stutter was the result of a head injury while serving in Afghanistan. Except now it seems he never fought there and probably wasn’t even a soldier.

Andrew De Leon was another previous favorite to somewhat mess up his Vegas audition. He had previously been amazing but last night his nerves appeared to get the better of him.

Howie told him,

“Andrew, you have a gift. I suggest you hone this gift.”

The judges advised him to go away and practice in front of an audience

‘America’s Got Talent’ airs on NBC Mondays at 8/7c and Tuesdays at 9/8c.

How many of us knew that Tim Poe would be axed after all the controversy surrounding his injury. I didn’t think he was a million dollar act and regardless he would’ve been eliminated sooner rather than later. I enjoyed the last few episodes of Americas Got Talent using my Auto Hop feature. I know most of us already fast forward commercials, but now this cool new feature does it for you. This feature works the day after my primetime shows air and offers me the option to skip them commercials. I’m glad my coworker from Dish told me about this great new feature I love. I’m going to be able to save some money on batteries since I no longer need to use the fast forward button every ten minutes.

This guy is a fraud. There is a cool list of famous people who stutter on the website of The Stuttering Foundation ( These famous people either stutter or have stuttered in the past. Some of the names are Bruce Willis, Marilyn Monroe, Emily Blunt, James Earl Jones, Peggy Lipton, Carly Simon, Eric Roberts, Nicholas Brandon and a ton more. There is also a “Celebrity Corner” section with in-depth articles on some of these people, such as Dominick Dunne, Bill Withers, B.B. King, Sophie Gustafson, Lewis Carroll, Bruce Willis and Emily Blunt.

It is time that we forget the fake stutterer of America’s Got Talent
