Poe (35) raised a firestorm after he lied about being injured on active service in Afghanistan in 2009. Unfortunately for him, the Minnesota National Guard were quick to shoot his falsehoods down in flames.
Tuesday’s ‘America’s Got Talent’ was taped before news broke of Poe’s apparent deceit. It’s a shame that his cover of George Strait’s ‘The Chair’ failed to impress the judges as I’d have loved to see him go before them at the live stages, now we know he lied about his military past.
“I don’t know that he holds up to other singers on this show at all,” Howie said about Poe.
It was left to Sharon to pass on the bad news that Poe was being cut.
He had said that is stutter was the result of a head injury while serving in Afghanistan. Except now it seems he never fought there and probably wasn’t even a soldier.
Andrew De Leon was another previous favorite to somewhat mess up his Vegas audition. He had previously been amazing but last night his nerves appeared to get the better of him.
Howie told him,
“Andrew, you have a gift. I suggest you hone this gift.”
The judges advised him to go away and practice in front of an audience
‘America’s Got Talent’ airs on NBC Mondays at 8/7c and Tuesdays at 9/8c.
