The American people agreed with us! Ashton Jones is out of “American Idol”. Her Limp performance of “When You Tell Me That You Love Me” Wednesday saw her in the bottom three last night and then eventually eliminated. Diana Ross she ain’t!
But now we’ve put those of you who missed the show out of your misery that you may once more have to watch wild card Ashton’s on-stage diva impressions (why did no-one say the song was “too big” for her?) let’s look at how the rest of the night went.
For once, host Ryan Seacrest didn’t pull out the suspense until the last moment to tell us who had been voted into the bottom three. Karen Rodriguez, Alaina Reinhart and Ashton Jones were in the bottom three, which fits in nicely with our assessment of the previous show! They sang for their lives but Ashton’s “save me” song wasn’t much better than her previous performance. Time to say goodbye!
The only real drama of the night happened right at the top of the show when Ryan Seacrest announced that for the second time this season, Casey Abrams was missing from the line-up and in hospital
“Get back here soon, okay?” Seacrest said.
So we knew Casey wasn’t to be eliminated, but with his great performance the previous night, we knew that anyway, right?
Casey is apparently once more suffering from stomach problems, but the cause is unknown. I hope they find out soon because I don’t want to lose this big ol’ musical teddy bear with more talent in his little finger than at least three of the contestants put together, just because he’s ill. I won’t tell you which three contestants, but one of them went tonight. So long, Ashton, Jones! Get well soon, Casey Abrams.
