Phillip will get his kidney surgery on Tuesday, and he’ll be recuperating in style in an upscale Malibu mansion.
As we previously reported, Phillip was in considerable pain during the entire “American Idol” competition. The cause is a congenital kidney stone problem that has already led to him having eight surgeries as the kidney stones were too big to pass through his system.
Doctors inserted a stent into Phillip’s kidney 7 weeks ago, as a temporary fix, but the pain was still unbearable for him at times. In fact, when Phillip returned home to Georgia last week, his doctor urged him to leave the competition and have the surgery immediately. However, Phillip refused.
So Phillip is finally to have his surgery on Tuesday afternoon.
His recovery then may take up to six weeks. But here’s the good news. An “American Idol” exec has offered his home to Phillip and his parents for the entire recovery period.
