American Idol Jermaine Jones’ Disqualification: What The Contestants Have To Say

Fans and contestants of American Idol 2012 were shocked by the disqualification of Jermaine Jones due to outstanding arrest warrants against his name.

Jermaine Jones was thrown out of the FOX reality competition on Wednesday for having four active warrants to his name (ironically having given a false name on several occasions.)

So what did those still in the running for the American Idol 2012 title think of the disqualification?

One thing that surprised me is that the contestants said they found out about Jermaine Jones’ disqualification at the same time as the rest of America. Strictly speaking, they were a day behind most of us and certainly CNAS readers because we told you the news on Wednesday morning. Apparently the contestants didn’t know until the actual show when the official announcement came.

You see how privileged you are?

Anyway, what did the contestants think to the news of Jermaine’s forced departure?

Colton Dixon (20) said,

“He handled himself so well. He has a past, everyone does.”

“We didn’t know any of the details at all. Our brains were going nuts, wondering what was going to happen. We love him,” Elise Testone added.

She too said she felt good about the way the program handled the exit.

Deandre Brackenstick (17) said she was stunned by his departure but she was glad everyone knew the reasons for it.

Shannon Magrane (16) was sad to see Jermaine go, just as we were sad to see her go last night.

“We never really got a chance to say good-bye, which was really upsetting. We were so in shock.”

Quite a poignant tribute, wasn’t it? And no one is really saying that American Idol was wrong to Boot Jermaine Jones. What’s your view on  it?
